Jonathan Gutheridge

Hello, my name is Jonathan Gutheridge. I am an 18 Year old Senior currently attending Lampasas High School located in the surrounding area of Austin, Texas.

   I have very strong aspirations of playing soccer at the next level. In my current physical and technical ability, I definitely see myself competing for a 1st team spot at the College level. Although this upcoming season will only be my second year of organized soccer, I have already exceeded all expectations of all of my peers, and coaches; something I plan on continuing to do.

 

    As previously stated, I have only now began my 2nd year of organized soccer. In my debut season, I managed to make Varsity due to my physical ability, as well as my potential for growth. Throughout the course of pre-season, I was plugged into many different positions for soccer, and I eventually settled in as a Center Back. Naturally an attack savvy player, I love to stand up players in the tackle. My love for the physical game shown through; seeing myself 1st name on the team sheet week in and week out, as well as playing every minute of our district season.

 

   Along with myself putting in the countless hours it took to retain my position in a hard fought competition between myself, and other experienced players in our squad, not only did my peers and coach recognize my hard work, but so did the other coaches in our district. Due to my intense efforts, the coaches were impressed, voting me ALL-DISTRICT NEW COMER, 2ND TEAM ALL-DISTRICT, and DEFENSIVE MVP for DIST. 26 4A. The recognition continued to grow. TASCO (Texas Association of Soccer Coaches) also acknowledged my work during my debut season; voting me 1ST TEAM ALL-STATE in REG. 4 4-A.

 

    With my debut season being beyond successful, I expect nothing less of what’s to come. I’ll continue to work on myself, and better my skills by the day. Thank you for your time, and please feel free to view the rest of my portfolio for more information.
